Angelina Jolie (originally Angelina Jolie Voight) is an American actress and director best known for her sexual edginess, sex appeal, and humanitarian work. Jolie is the daughter of actor Jon Voight, was raised in New York. After her childhood, she moved to Los Angeles, where she played the part of an inpatient with mental illness in Girl, interrupted (1999). She attended the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute for two years. She later enrolled in Beverly Hills High School. She then studied drama at New York University. Also, she was an actor in theatre productions. Later, she performed as a model and in music videos. Jolie met Jonny Lee Miller (1996 divorced, divorced 1999).). As with several subsequent films, Hackers did not gain a traction. Jolie was the actress who played the role of the governor's wife in Alabama, a segregationist and was the focus of attention in 1997. In the following year, she received the Golden Globe Award. In the HBO film Gia in which she was a supermodel who had a drug addiction. She was awarded multiple awards as well as a Golden Globe Award, and Screen Actors Guild Award. In 1999, she starred in the comedy Pushing Tin with John Cusack and Billy Bob Thornton, and in the year following she got married to Thornton (divorced 2003).After her Oscar-winning role in Girl, Interrupted, Jolie played a variety of action-oriented films. Jolie was the carjacker's wife (Nicolas Cage) in Gone in Sixty Seconds 2000. Then she switched to her British accent and learned street fighting and kickboxing to play the role of Lara Croft Tomb Raider 2001 and Lara Croft Tomb Raider The Cradle of Life 2003. She played the role of Alexander's mother in Oliver Stone's Alexander (2004) and starred alongside Jude Law and Gwyneth Paltrow in Sky Captain and The World of Tomorrow (a sci-fi thriller set 1930s New York City). Both films failed at the box office however Jolie made a splash with Mr. & Mrs. Smith (2005) which was a film in which she portrayed an assassin posing as a normal housewife; while working on the film she was introduced to Brad Pitt, who became her co-star.
